My career started at age fifteen working in the clothing industry. After 24 years of working through the ranks I achieved the top position of Operations Manager for one of the largest specialty retailers in the world owned and operated by The Limited. Managing and overseeing over 1,000 employees was part of my responsibilities. I also held the title of Merchandiser and had hands-on experience of what satisfied the customer. The Limited Philosophy of “guaranteed top-notch customer service” helped me to understand how to take care of customer needs.

My maritime experience also began at the age of fifteen with the purchase of my first boat. While cruising on beautiful Lake Erie the water became my passion. My maritime career began in the early 1990’s when I was hired as the Sales Manager for an inland Ohio marina that had five different boat lines. In 1997, I accepted a position as Service Director for Sandusky Harbor Marina, the largest marina on Sandusky Bay. As Service Director I was directly responsible for increasing the service department’s revenue by 30%. After two years in that position I was promoted to my current position of General Manager.

What I find fascinating about the marina industry is that it is ever changing, challenging, and very rewarding. I feel a great sense of pride in how the customer reacts. There is nothing more rewarding than to walk around the marina and see how happy people are enjoying time with their families. The good times and smiling faces is a reflection of the marina and the people that make it happen.

I am a member of the Lake Erie Trades Association (LEMTA) and am proud to announce that Sandusky Harbor Marina is a member of the “Clean Marina Program.”

On a personal note, my home life revolves around my “baby” – my Giant Schnauzer, Benson. I also enjoy restoring player pianos and collecting model trains.
